Next-generation metabolic care

Updated over 5 months ago

Thank you for joining us in the flok app!

flok is dedicated transforming daily care for those with PKU, HCU, MSUD, Tyrosinemia, Organic Acidemias and UCDs – building the 1st research dataset fueled by daily care for our community. We have completed extensive testing internally, and we are now ready to share it with a broader audience!

Please keep in mind that this is still in constant development! Your input can help make the flok app a success.

How to install the flok app

Click here or search for flok in your app store and install the flok app. You will walk through the account set up and agree to the user agreement.

Please keep in mind that this is your user account and should be your information, even if you are joining as a caregiver/carepartner to someone else or as an ally.

How to Get Started On the flok app

To make your feedback as effective as possible, be sure to try out all of the features you normally use in addition to the specific things we highlight in the app update emails.

  1. Once you have installed the flok app you will see the intro screen has a link to setup a new account.

  2. If you are the caregiver of someone with one of the flok disorders, please note that you should first create a profile for yourself. You will fill out your name and zip code and then select your flok, as well as your role (You have an inherited metabolic disorder, are a caregiver, or are an ally). You can create other profiles after you set up your account.

Setting up another profile and inviting other users

  1. To set up a profile for someone else you are a caregiver for you click your avatar in the top left and then choose "Add New Profile".

  2. Follow the onscreen steps and when finished you will be able to share with the owner of that profile, or you can click "Manage Access" to share the profile with other caregivers/carepartners at various levels of permission - even if they do not yet have an account. They will receive a text with instructions on installation.

  3. If they have already downloaded the flok app they will instead get instructions for claiming the profile using the menu in the top right of the app, claim profile, and a unique code.

  4. If you are inviting someone who has an inborn error of protein metabolism to their own profile that you have set tracking up on later, when you click "Manage Access" you will check the box for "inviting to own profile".

Thank you!
