Building a Recipe (food or formula)

Building a recipe and recording formula in Eat.

Updated over a year ago

Build a recipe and flok will help you calculate the values by servings. Save foods or formula you make often to favorites and quicktrack to your log!

  • Click "Eat" and choose the + next to "Food Log" to start building a meal.

  • Name your recipe (e.g. "Typical Formula" or "Grandma's Special Soup")

  • Search for and select an ingredient, then fill out the measure in your recipe.

  • Repeat for each ingredient, then choose "next"

  • On the recipe overview/edit screen you can check all the ingredients, and provide the total number of servings, what constitutes a serving, and the total finished or cooked weight.

    • If you choose "Unit" you will get to name the serving, 1 "cupcake" for example.

    • Finished weight is important for when something is not easy to serve in equal portions, or a serving may not be finished so that you can weigh out the remainder.

  • Save the recipe. You will be taken to the detail screen and from here you can save a serving to favorites by clicking the heart outline.

To record a serving in the future simply quicktrack to your log! If some formula loss occurs you can always go back and edit the entry from the food log screen.

In the video below you will find an overview on using the "Eat" section to build recipes and add user foods in the flok app.
